Writing literature in general,or poetry in particular,is not exactly a deliberate act of compulsion, a sort of divine mission self-realized.Joseph George's poems are genuine reflections of his quotidian experiences. He tries to present the problems of an individual who faces the harsh realities of a corrupted society.Pious and innocent people suffer a lot here but the poet believes that a simple man's piety weighs the balance of heaven. The poems of Joseph George have a didactic input;they propogate a sort of ethical message. Most of them are subjective and highly reflective of his personal experiences. He knows that no one can find an absolute solution to the problems faced by society. In Africa, there is a saying,"Don't think too much, you will get headache" and in a poem, Joseph George writes,"Think little and live comfortably".I wish his debut "Amidst an Exacerbated World of Cahoots" all success.Pro.Dr.Alexander Raju.
