Recognizing the importance of English in today’s world, I’ve always admired multilingual individuals. During a visit to a government school where English was taught as a third language, I was struck by the students’ fluency. However, writing remained a daunting and unenjoyable task for many of them. Determined to change that, I began teaching English to 9th-grade SIFF scholars—brilliant students from marginalized communities. My goal was to make writing fun and engaging through creative exercises like penning love letters to fictional characters and crafting imaginative stories.I’m immensely proud of each student, watching them grow and embrace writing with newfound enthusiasm. Now, it’s my honor to present their work in An Anthology of Marginalized Voices. I hope you find their creativity and passion as inspiring as I do.
