The book brings together two kinds of wisdom. The first is a collection of personal codes that I created and applied in my own life. The second, presented as Borrowed Wisdom, includes familiar acronyms and timeless principles that have helped people think, decide, communicate, lead, and live better across generations. This is not a book of rigid rules. It does not claim to present entirely new truths. Its purpose is simpler: to make useful truths easier to remember. Each abbreviation is followed by a short reflection and a relevant quote. The entries are independent, so the book can be read from beginning to end, one code a day, or opened randomly whenever a reminder is needed. It is meant to be revisited rather than merely completed. At its heart, Codes to Live By is a book about clarity, inner peace, discipline, perspective, and authentic living. It demonstrates how a few letters can sometimes carry an entire philosophy. The reader may not remember every code, and that is not necessary. Even if one abbreviation appears at the right moment and helps someone pause, choose better, worry less, prepare more, or live a little more wisely, the book has served its purpose. These are my codes. The final invitation to every reader is simple:Create your own.
