A book worth reading and it really touches your soul....
To begin, the cover page depicts a brightly colored bird perched on a thorny branch against a delicate backdrop of infinity, inspiring optimism in the midst of gloom. It sets the tone for expecting wonderful, heartfelt, and passionate poems, which Mrs. Pratibha Panghal delivers to the utmost. Each poem addresses a distinct feeling, beginning with a soulful plea called 'When You Hug My Prayers' and ending with 'Life Defined', which summarises the ups and downs and gives and takes of life in just five power packed lines, the last line defining the superficiality; And half filled scoops of joy’- where the ‘other half’ contains cynical exploits. In between the vivid 'Art' placed strategically interrupts the agony of the hurting heart and instills hope in the midst of despair. My favorite poem is 'Spring Without You', although all of them made my heart skip a beat. The first half left me feeling distant and detached. The words 'reluctant', 'cactuses', 'draining', 'dark premonitions', and 'cringes' tightened their grasp on me, suffocating my spirit, only to be resurrected the next minute by 'The stubborn, stunning hope'. What a magnificent piece! The next poem affirms the power of 'silence' and how terrible it can be when compared to the most stingy words, read the perfect oxymoron 'Deafening Silence'. The book "Listen To The Thorn Birds" is an amazing depiction of feelings that can transport you from the "harshness of desert" to the "sweetness of dessert." A must-read if you want a raw and honest portrayal of emotions. All the best!
