Hyderabad state was earlier ruled by Nizam. The state was liberated and unified with India on 17th September 1948. The state was then bifurcated into three parts. Telugu speaking part was attached to Andhra Pradesh, Kannada speaking part was attached to Karnataka while Marathi speaking Marathwada was attached to Maharashtra. The history of the freedom struggle of Hyderabad and the people who fought for it went behind the curtain and the new generation does not know much about it anymore. Justice Keshavrao Koratkar is one such Marathi-speaking freedom fighter whose contribution to the freedom struggle is less known to the newer generation. An attempt has been made in this book to throw light on his career.
