The title of the present book is “Samkhyadarshan Avam Shankarvedant ka Tulanatmak Adhyayan” The theme of this book aims at analyzing, examining, and critically comparing the theories of metaphysics of two dominant thinkers of Indian Philosophy (Samkhya darshan and Shankarvedant). In the classical stage, Advaita Vedanta and Samkhyadarshan developed into two parallel systems confronting each other. In this book, I discuss how these two systems agree and disagree regarding the theory of metaphysics. The book is divided into 5 chapters including introduction and upasamhar. Samkhya is a dualistic philosophy that posits that there are two ultimate substances or entities in reality, both of which are infinite and eternal: Prakriti and Purush; matter and consciousness, one is a material principle, and the other a spiritual principle. matter is one, but consciousness is many it means there is only one universe but infinite individual souls are sharing it. On the contrary, Shankarvedant is a monist philosophy that posits there is only one real infinite and eternal substance or entity in reality: Brahman. Brahman is a pure spiritual principle. Nothing else exists apart from this all-pervading universal spirit/ consciousness, whatever appears to be matter is just Brahman perceived through the senses and minds which makes it seem like such a thing as matter exists, it is all consciousness.
