Climate Change is the defining issue of our time and we are at a defining moment. The effects ofClimate Change is unparalleled in magnitude, ranging from changing weather patterns thatendanger food production to increasing sea levels that raise the likelihood of catastrophicflooding. Without immediate action now, future adaptation to these effects will be more difficultand expensive. Many people naturally associate Climate Change with a worldwide problem thatdoesn’t directly touch them or even go so far as to say it doesn’t exist, it has received lessattention than it deserves. Public understanding of Climate Change falls behind scientificadvancement. Government planning and policies are an important part of this shift, but they arenot adequate in and of themselves since they support the propagation of denial and falseinformation. Both community empowerment to take action and community understanding ofsolutions available to address the issues are crucial. The book “Sectoral Approach to ClimateChange” makes an effort to briefly explain the problem of climate change before going throughhow it is related to key sectors like water, agriculture, energy and health. The book also makes an effort to illustrate potential solutions in the aforementioned sectors.
