Sweet Ruins touches on the themes of sweetness and bitterness. It progresses from the sweet phase of love that feels warm, soft, fresh and adventure-like to the hurt and disbelief that one faces on being abandoned or broken. The title itself is an oxymoron so as to give out a sense of the ups and downs that come along with love. “Ruins” here, are for the reference of an antanaclasis. “Ruins” here evoke the idea of destruction and also the remnants of some thing/place after it is destroyed. The poetry in this book is aimed to project the idea of a bittersweet love.
