This book is an outcome of part of my class lectures to students at the Post graduate Level at the “Centre for Tea Plantation Management” at Golaghat Commerce College, Golaghat, Assam. For some time now, during my visits to numerous tea factories as a consultant, and as well as while teaching, my Post Graduate Students, I have felt the necessity of a book, explaining in a simple manner the operating and technical principles required to produce quality teas, and to understand the basic principles used in the designing of the machines used for tea processing. This book starts from the quality requirements necessary to produce good teas, and proceeds through, most of the technical principles required to produce good quality teas, and where and how things can go wrong during production.
