I was walking and happened to be clicking inadvertently the Episode E2 of “The Gita – Memoirs of a Psychiatrist” on Spotify. Listened reluctantly and stopped in between. The next day I thought of giving a try and listened fully and since then there has been no looking back. Will wait every day for the evening so that I could listen the podcast and finally was through with all 216 episodes. I consider this experience, ‘divine’ which changed my path totally, all for good.…... Key takeaways A Psychiatrist’s Perspective Makes It Unique What sets this book apart is the author’s background — blending psychological insight with spiritual guidance. It helped me see inner conflict and emotion through a whole new lens. Beautifully Written, Spiritually Grounded The writing is elegant yet simple, and the message is timeless. If you’ve ever wondered how the Gita applies to your life today — this is the version to read. Finally, a Gita I Can Understand I’ve tried reading the Bhagavad Gita before, but I always gave up. This one is different. The explanations are simple but not simplistic — they honor the depth of the original while making it accessible to today’s reader. Summary: I’m grateful to “Arise Arjuna Foundation” for publishing subsequently the 216 episodes into a form of a book. I’ve read many versions of this classic, but this book makes the Gita finally feel understandable. The author explains profound teachings using everyday examples, without watering down the meaning. It’s clear, wise, and surprisingly relatable — like having a wise mentor guiding you through life’s biggest questions. Whether you’re new to the Gita or returning for deeper insight, this book is a must-read. Highly recommended!
