The author, who is in one of the senior most positions as a doctor in government, and who is also a public health expert, has revealed an unknown and very creative part of his mind in writing a fictional thriller that I could not leave and had to finish in one go. The narrative of the stolen Buddha idol picks up right from the start and through Delhi, UP, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal it ends in a climactic and cinematic fashion in Sikkim. It appears as if the author has travelled through these places, and his own travels, meeting various kinds of people, and experiences that are sometimes picturesque, sometimes a bit intimidating, have informed his story. Besides, it has Chinese, plain-land and hill people, involved in the cops and criminal act, each just one step in front or behind the other. Various cities and routes, as well hospitals and what have you, all make the book read like an exciting screenplay! I recommend it for pure entertainment and thrill built in real life surroundings!
