Looking for most popular romance books? Here’s a list of most popular romance novels in 2024. Readers turn to romance more than any other genre when they need hope. The genre validates the notion that everyone, no matter who they are, can find not only love, but also a Happily Ever After. That sentiment, that promise, has been more vital than ever in the last several years.

This year has served as a reminder to me that the personal is always political, and I’ve found myself gravitating toward romances with protagonists who are seeking healing, standing up for their communities, being courageous enough to fight for justice, and wanting to live genuinely.
- Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan
Josiah and Yasmen have suffered a heinous tragedy that has torn them apart; at the start of Ryan’s beautiful romance book “Before I Let Go,” they begin the road back to each other. Ryan has stated that she “writes for effect,” and this piece furthers that objective. How can you mend a relationship that was supposed to be unbreakable? Her compelling depiction of despair and bereavement, along with devastatingly honest talks about the stigma associated with mental illness in communities of colour, is a superb illustration of how, in the right hands, romance novels can perform revolutionary work. - Heartbreaker by Sarah MacLean
If Adelaide Frampton, the South Bank’s slyest pickpocket, were looking for love, it would not be with the stoic, upright Duke of Clayborn. When the two are thrust together on a whirlwind vacation across England, she is confronted with the horrible reality that Clayborn is not only devastatingly gorgeous, but also a very nice and respectable guy. This, of course, is the one thing Adelaide is unprepared to deal with. This explosive second book of the Hell’s Belles series maintains the MacLeanverse’s trademark blend of feminism, rip-roaring adventure, and romance. - Mistakes Were Made by Meryl Wilsner
A smart and seductive rom-com about a college senior who accidently hooks up with her best friend’s mom from the critically acclaimed author of Something To Talk About. Cassie Klein isn’t searching for a hookup when she travels to an off-campus bar to escape her school’s Family Weekend—it simply happens. Buying a drink for a stranger develops into what should be a simple, unforgettable one-night stand. The next morning, though, her friend drags her along to meet her mother—the hot, older woman Cassie slept with.
Erin Bennett attended Family Weekend to spend time with her kid rather than having a one-night stand with a college senior. In her defence, she hadn’t realised Cassie was a student until they met. To make matters worse, Erin’s kid invites Cassie to breakfast the following morning. Despite Erin’s better judgment—how could sleeping with your daughter’s friend be anything but bad?—she and Cassie get along just as well during the day as they did last night.
What should have been a one-time fling suddenly becomes unavoidable, and Cassie and Erin are soon sneaking about. Worse, they begin to realise they have something real. But is being honest about their love worth the risk? - American Royalty by Tracey Livesay

Concerned about her public image, she is advised to work on generating positive publicity… or else. Prince Jameson, a bright academic and reclusive royal, wants to live his life away from the spotlight, only leaving his ivory tower to attend weddings or funerals. In order to get favourable press, she assigns Jameson to organise a tribute concert in memory of her late husband. He seeks the guidance of a student because he is out of his depth and resentful at being called to serve. After all, what could be more fitting for a royal event than a musician called “Duchess”?
Too late, Jameson realises the American rapper is popular, seductive, and raunchy—not what the Queen desired, despite his own reaction. Dani understands this is the kind of exposure she needs to seal the deal, and it doesn’t hurt that the royal family is in charge. When they are thrown together, they succumb to the tremendous attraction that exists between them. But, as the spotlight shines brighter and outside forces try to intervene, will the Prince and Duchess be a fairy tale romance for the ages or a palatial disaster? - All Drama, No Queen by Andaleeb Wajid

You step out on an evening to hear the whispers of a refreshing breeze, to soothe the bruises of a long day. But the clouds don’t oblige and a heavy downpour drenches your hopes, seeping into your clothes. Perhaps a cup of hot Ginger tea then would calm your shivering fingers, but your nearest tea stall has its doors shut tight. A few steps further, you might come across an unfamiliar light flickering with smoke rising from teapots. And someone would be there, with a similar yearning for this mellow waft. Though chancing upon them is perhaps merely a coincidence, what follows after that is an instant spark of feelings undiscovered.
This is what their story feels like, of Aarav and Ada, who keep denying the sweet tickles of fate. “It’s not love” they say, with bittersweet smiles on their faces.
Aarav Khanna has a mostly sorted life when you look at him from far away. A fashion designer from NIFT, currently working at a call center, an attractive persona, a girlfriend, and a close friend from work. What more does a person need to be contented in life? And then he comes across Ada Maciel, a mechanical engineering student, whose suppressed laugh is enough to make Aarav suddenly realise that a bigger picture seems complete until you come across a missing piece. The story then unfolds with nourishing starved feelings and new ones budding in each other’s presence. Confusion, uncertainties, several ups and downs, Aarav’s girlfriend Shayna, and a vow to meet Ada after 25 years riddle the story.
