1. Bangalore Book Club (BBC)
This is one of the oldest and most cherished book clubs in Bangalore and aims to give book lovers a platform to promote debates and sharing of experiences. Since their initial meeting in 2006, the members have been able to arrange regular gatherings. The second and fourth Saturdays of the month at 4:00 PM are typically when the BBC meets. Before the meetings, the new location is made known.
Along with book readers, the group also includes amateur and professional writers. When the club meets, members choose a book to read separately and then have a discussion about it. All kinds of books are covered, and a year’s worth of reading is planned out in advance.

2. Literati Sap Book Clubs
Literati is the largest corporate book club in India and a project of SAP Labs, India. The campaign to promote reading books is being led by SAP’s Sumit Shetty.
In contrast to traditional book clubs, Literati functions differently. After giving it considerable thought, the group members choose an author to invite, who then shows up and engages in conversation with them. The reasoning behind this is that in order to extend their views, imaginative minds need to be exposed to many original ideas, which is what Literati aims to do.
This author-based movement, which is about 7 years old, has about 4000 participants. Since Literati has made a name for itself in the writing community, authors who are in town frequently travel to Whitefield to attend one of its meetings. Amish Tripathi, Chetan Bhagat, Shashi Tharoor, Mark Tully, and a few other well-known individuals have previously attended Literati meets.
The group makes sure that it meets at least once a month, and it responds to emails quickly. A member may join at any point during the year.

3. iBrowse
The author-based conversations used by organisations like Literati and the traditional book discussion clubs are combined in iBrowse. Regarding its author meetups, it differs slightly from Literati. The author is invited, introduces their book, and then members are free to engage in conversation and dialogue with them.
The book that was selected for the month is discussed after the author has left. Each participant nominates a book along with a line describing what they enjoy about it, and the books are picked after being put to a vote. About 500 people belong to iBrowse on Facebook, and on average, 70 people show up for meetings.

4. Book Masala
Milan Vohra, the first Indian author of Milles and Boons, made the decision to form this book club after gaining experience in three other book clubs. This club has been functioning for around 3 years and has about 50 members. Every month, the club members gather, typically at the Hyatt Bangalore.
The club has swiftly expanded since it was first founded with a core group of 5–6 individuals. Book Masala takes great pride in its democratic and interactive book selection process. One of Vohra’s favourite elements of the group is how the book that will be read the following month is decided by the club members in advance. Members are urged to venture outside of their comfort zones and discover new literary horizons.

5. Bring Your Own Book Club
Bangalore’s Bring Your Own Book Club developed its own unique operating system in an effort to break away from the typical book club operating system. Members don’t meet to discuss a specific book; rather, they get together to talk about the most recent book they read or their all-time favourites.
Members will be exposed to a variety of literary genres as a result, and they will frequently hear about new novels. Members go around and pick up a book of their choice or join a fellow member to discuss a particular feature of that book after each person has spoken about his or her most recent read. The sole requirement is that each participant bring a hard or soft copy of the book.
